Hello

I'm Dr Sandra Sattler, an art historian and Indologist specialising in the goddess traditions of South Asia, with a particular focus on medieval textual and material culture. I am currently a Postdoctoral Researcher on the ERC-funded MANTRAMS project at the University of Oxford, where my research explores yoginī imagery and mantras.

I completed my PhD at SOAS, University of London, and have held positions as Curator at the British Museum, Senior Teaching Fellow at SOAS, and J. Gonda Postdoctoral Fellow at Leiden University. My academic background includes studies at the University of Göttingen and a Fulbright Fellowship at UC Berkeley.

For over a decade, I have researched and lectured on the art, religious, and cultural history of South Asia.
